District 5150, April 2024 Rotarian of the Month.

Congratulations to Ken Lai of the Rotary Club of San Francisco West for being selected as Rotary District 5150’s Rotarian of the Month for April 2024! Ken has been an exceptional and dedicated Rotarian since 2003 and provides 21 years of experience and a strong commitment to integrity, service, leadership, and fellowship.

In Rotary, Ken has held numerous leadership positions, including Club President two times, Foundation Chair, Treasurer, and Membership Chair. His dedication to his Club is unwavering, and he is always generous with his time, energy, and resources.

Ken is a Paul Harris Fellow and has participated in Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY), generously donating to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) since he joined Rotary. He is always willing to offer his resources for Rotarian events and occasions; fellowship is very important. His friendly and approachable demeanor makes him well-liked by everyone in the Club. He attends almost all of the social and community events, often bringing his entire family with him.

As a family man with good morals, Ken instills the importance of community service in his children. He has raised three children and frequently brought them along to do community service, demonstrating what Rotary is all about and encouraging them to become involved as well. He was instrumental in leading one of his children, Georgina, to become a Rotarian in the Rotary Club of San Francisco Evening.

Ken graduated from Harvard in 1989 with a degree in economics and finance. Upon graduation, he started with a software company where he raised enough funds to start his own business. He is the CEO and National Sales Manager of Mister Hardware, a business he has proudly owned since 1992. Ken is very innovative and has designed lots of products and has two patents. In his spare time, Ken likes to compose Chinese calligraphy and poetry. He also likes making home improvements and spending time with his family and their Golden Retriever, Buddy.

With his impressive leadership and service track record, Ken Lai is an asset to his Club and an inspiration to Rotarians everywhere. The Rotary Club of San Francisco West and Rotary District 5150 are honored to have Ken Lai as a valued member and grateful for his many contributions over the years. Ken is most deserving to be recognized as District 5150’s Rotarian of the Month for April 2024!
